Visiting Spain for the vacations and making a trip to Alicante is something we do not want to miss out on. Alicante is one of Spain’s largest tourist destinations and every year a large number of people make their way to the city’s inviting attraction. 

Situated along the coast of Costa Blanca it is also a port to the Mediterranean Sea. The lively city of Spain, Alicante is known for its sunny beaches.  Also, a perfect place to get suntans, walk on the sand dunes and take a refreshing dive in the water. Santa Barbara Castle:


This castle has stood by, witnessing everything that has happened in the history of Spain. The 16th-century castle, Santa Barbara is situated on the top of the mountain Benacantil. The castle is also a museum consisting of Spanish artifacts and heirlooms dating back to 1500. Tourists wake up early in the morning and prepare to climb this monument.  Also to gaze at the beauty of Alicante from a top view. For the less sporty people, there is an arrangement of lift that takes them up to the summit with ease.

Castle of Santa Barbara also hosts exhibitions on regularity which are open for history enthusiasts.

After the tour of the castle is over, people can walk outside and stand to absorb the wonderful view of the entire city from the top. 

And then they can make their way down to one of the most popular beaches, the beach of Postiguet Beach located just along the coast of the mountain on the foot of Castle Santa Barbara.

Touring the castle can get a little boring for some. So taking a visit to reenergize and feel fresh at the Postiguet Beach is what we suggest. The beach is stretched out on 800 meters of land on the coast of the castle and attracts many people.  Including the locals and tourists from out of town. Finding a spot to lay out the mat for a sunbath can be exhausting on the weekend. To land an area on the beach at the ideal location, it is better to visit the beach during the weekdays.

People usually have an amusing time playing beach volleyball.  Also swimming in the ocean, surfing the waves or relaxing on the warm sand soaking up the sun. 

The beach has some great eating sites which serve numerous mouth-watering food items ranging from Spanish specials to tasty beach snacks.
